Asher House Wellness is more than a brand, it's a community. We're built on the foundation of love and healing, but it took courage and passion for the brand’s founders to embark on a cross-country mission to get dogs out of shelters and into loving homes. It was about action, and they took it. After funding a successful Kickstarter Campaign known as the Asher House Adventure with 853 backers and over $57,000 raised, they hit the first 48, aiming to rescue at least one dog in each state.
“People think we’re helping the dogs, but the dogs are helping us,” says Asher House Wellness co-founder, Lee Asher, who traveled with best friend Luke, and six rescue dogs in an RV. Going from state to state, working closely with local animal shelters or humane societies, they were able to set up adoptable dog event showcases for eager attendees. Through fun and engaging content, they showed people the amazing breeds just beyond those walls and the loving bond you can share with them. They paid for adoption and provided a month’s supply of MyOllie dog food with their Kickstarter funding. Lee realized that by rescuing dogs, they were rescuing themselves, and other people.
“The soul of our brand is to encourage people to be better and be stronger, physically and emotionally.” And he believes his daring adventure was a big part of what made him who he is today. His own experience with chronic back pain following 6-month paralysis, plus his dog Lilly’s daily seizures, causing friends and family to suggest “putting her down”, led to the development of the first Asher House Wellness product, Asher House Thrive Oil. It’s an amazing product for adult dogs to help them live well and thrive. “The healthier I am, the happier I feel, the better I am as a pet owner," Lee always says.
Almost a year later, we’re following the Asher House Adventure model by breaking down barriers through education, content, and experiences — and as we strive to be the leading authority in the dog health/wellness industry, we stand by our mission to create products that encourage the happiness, health, and well-being of dogs and their humans worldwide.
